Great Rewrites Scientific Editing is helmed by Stephen Voght, Ph.D.
Steve has over a decade of experience in technical editing and science writing, with a focus on immunology, virology, infectious disease, vaccinology, genetics, genomics and related fields. He received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Niagara University, and holds a Doctorate in Genetics (Ph.D.) from the University of Washington, where he studied human neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders using a Drosophila melanogaster model.
Since that time he has provided editing support to a group of immunology and virology researchers, with projects ranging from basic letters of support and meeting abstracts to coordinating the writing and submission of multi-million dollar NIH research grants. Steve has experience working with a wide range of funding agencies, including the US NIH, UK MRC, South Africa MRC, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and a number of private foundations. He supports the entire life-cycle of grants from initial inquiries, to grant submission, progress reports, and close-out.
Steve has expertise in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Dropbox, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Endnote, MS Teams, Zoom, Skype, Slack, and more.
